About Brown Mountain

Brown Mountain is located in Tornado, WV. The pic to the left is the area we are developing into an observatory. This site chronicles our Journey into Astronomy and Astrophotography.

We enjoy the beauty of the night sky and look with wonder at all that exists in the universe. A dark sky is rapidly becoming a thing of the past.

The sky was used as a calendar and a navigation tool by our ancestors. Today in Urban areas people can only see the Moon and maybe 4-6 of the brightest stars and planets.

The Dark skies are a resource that we cannot afford to loose. Do your part to protect them.
