So a consistent setup spot is essential for Astrophotography and it makes the leveling of the mount easier if you had a defined spot for setup. It can be a simple 3 dots on a concrete driveway to 3 bricks or pavers sunk into the ground in your yard. Aaron and I made a spot to set up each night with a little excavation, landscape fabric, 3 12″ pavers and river gravel. This may be where I decide to put a pier.
